“Dan was so great in the recruiting process. He helped, not only with setting up visits with different schools and coaches, but also had a lot to do with the coaches and schools being interested in our daughter. He has formed many relationships with a lot of D-1 programs, thus making the process that much easier to get connected. Dan also makes highlight videos for his athletes throughout the season to help highlight their skills to get coaches interested in them.” – Father of Grace Nelson

“As a high school basketball player with big dreams, navigating the college recruitment process was overwhelming. That’s where Gateway Hoops Recruiting stepped in and made all the difference.
From the moment I signed up, I received personalized attention that made me feel like more than just another athlete. They helped me create a standout highlight video that genuinely captured my skills and style of play, which was crucial in getting noticed by college coaches.
The guidance on which colleges to target was spot-on; they matched my athletic abilities with schools that not only fit my basketball aspirations but also my academic goals. The constant support in managing communications with coaches took a huge load off my shoulders, allowing me to focus on my game and schoolwork.
One of the highlights was the direct feedback after each interaction with a coach. This helped me refine my approach and understand what colleges look for. Their network is impressive; I got opportunities for showcases and camps I wouldn’t have known about otherwise.
Thanks to Gateway Hoops Recruiting, I’ve now committed to a college that’s the perfect fit for me both on and off the court. If you’re a serious basketball player looking to get to the next level, this service is worth every penny. They’ve not only helped me find a college but have been instrumental in shaping m’y entire recruitment journey into a positive and rewarding experience.”

“I am incredibly grateful for Dan and all of the time he put into my college recruiting journey. I joined the Indiana Elite Havoc program my sophomore year of high school and I couldn’t thank Dan enough for inviting me to be a part of this program. Dan has an extreme amount of knowledge with the recruiting process. He truly cares about you and wants you to end up somewhere that feels like home.
He sent out my film and contacted coaches and connected them to me. As a young player I wasn’t completely familiar with the recruiting process and Dan guided me throughout my whole recruitment journey. I couldn’t thank him enough for the time he put into helping me find my future home. I wouldn’t be where I am today without him.”

“Dan Gates was my AAU coach from 7th grade until my senior year of High School. Dan was not only a great coach but also great at the recruiting side of everything when it came to contacting coaches and creating opportunities for my teammates and me.
My freshman year of high school was when I started getting noticed by Division One college coaches, and they, at the time, had to go through Dan to contact me because they could not contact me until my junior year of high school. By the time my Junior year came around, I had around 15 division one schools that I was in contact with consistently and a couple of others that had sent me messages of interest.
This was a very chaotic time for my family and me because my parents did not play college sports, so they did not understand exactly how this process worked and how to guide me.
Dan helped us every step of the way, and with multiple Division One offers, I verbally committed by the end of my junior year to the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.
At this time, I had suffered a major injury, tearing my ACL, MCL, and both meniscuses. UTC was completely okay with this and was still totally on board with the understanding that injuries are a part of the game, so I officially signed with them right before my senior season of basketball. I would make it five games into my senior year before realizing that my meniscus needed surgery once again, ending my senior season. On top of that, in March of my senior year, I discovered that the head coach of UTC would be fired for a below-average season after her many years of being top in the conference. I no longer felt comfortable going six hours away from home to play for a team that I would no longer know most of the coaching staff. I also realized that the only film I had from the past two years was those five games that I played on my torn meniscus. In complete panic, I contacted Dan, and he used the only film I had from my sophomore year of high school and a little bit of my senior year to contact coaches from all divisions.
Dan worked his magic and got me a full-ride scholarship offer from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville. I soon committed there, and my dream of playing college basketball stayed alive all because of Dan.
My AAU team had three girls go to Division 1, 1 girl go to Division 2, 1 go to Division 3, and 2 others go to a high-level Junior College. Dan was able to coach our team, manage an AAU organization, and stay in contact with all of the college coaches who were contacting him about multiple girls.
When I told Dan I wanted to play college ball, he helped make that dream a reality for me by doing everything possible to get my name out there, along with giving my family and me tips on how to talk to college coaches.
Without Dan, I probably would never have stepped foot on a college basketball court.”

“I want to express my gratitude for Dan Gates and the incredible impact he has had on my basketball journey.
Before working with Dan, I was unsure how to navigate the recruiting process, I also only had one offer at the time. The network of contacts that he has, made all the difference for my recruitment. Thanks to Dan’s countless hours and his guidance, I received over 10 offers, ranging for JUCO to NAIA from schools I never thought would notice me.
Dan was always there to provide advice, spending countless hours on highlight videos, and educating me on it in the process. His work ethic, determination, love for the game, and ability to connect with coaches sets him apart from anyone else.
I highly recommend Dan Gates to any player looking to take their game to the next level and get noticed by college programs. His help has opened doors for me that I wouldn’t begin to think of and I couldn’t be more thankful for Dan!”
